Am I correct in deducing that NORTH of the landfall, the anticipated forward speed of 30 mph oughta be SUBTRACTED from the wind velocity that'll be hitting the east side of my condo in Longboat Key?
Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't believe that the forward speed makes much difference. The storm is still spinning and the winds should be consistent most of the way around.
The main benefit to being on the north side of landfall is the lack of storm surge.
