That's easy...there's no such thing as winter in FL, much less a bad one (a little clue: they never have to specify if the temp they're talking about is above or below zero). In order to disagree, please take an overnight flight to Mpls St Paul where we'll talk outside tomorrow morning; it'll be a balmy 5 degrees with the usual breeze.

Actually...I exaggerated. It'll probably be seven degrees.

Yes, it all does become quite real when sober...lol.
I am a Floridian of 52 years and although we may not have winters comparible to the Yanks, I am grateful our weather, for the most part...is often very pleasurable.

As a Miamian of 49 years I couldn't agree more. Except for the occasional hurricane and the 90+ humid summer afternoons,, the weather here is pretty nice most of the time, particularly this time of year.

However on a serious note, cold weather in Florida can be dangerous, particulary to the elderly. We might have storm shutters and houses to withstand a cat3 hurricane, but what we don't have is storm windows or adequate heating. Even a "mild" cold spell in the 40's can be difficult to deal with. Becky's question is valid.

Bill
