Chris is one tough little cyclone. He has encountered wind shear, Saharan dust and dry air in his journey across the Atlantic. After having his convection stripped away from the low level circulation last night by northerly shear, 24 hours later he is generating new convection near the circulation center. Expected track is west to west northwest and, if he survives Cuba, he could make it well into the Gulf of Mexico.

Looking way ahead, a strong wave on the African continent (one of the better looking ones this year) near 15N 4W at 04/00Z is maintained as a circulation well into the Atlantic by the GFS.
