Ana located at approximately 14.6N 50.6W at 15/23Z or about 725 miles east southeast of the northern Leeward Islands. In the past couple of hours the forward motion has slowed a bit from 15 knots to about 12 or 13 knots - just enough to allow the convection displaced to the east of the circulation center to catch up to the eastern edge of the center. If this trend continues, Ana should take more of a west northwest forward motion. Since windshear is otherwise quite light along the track for the next few days, additional slow intensification is likely which would adjust the forecast track guidance back to the right again. Probably a close call just to the north of Puerto Rico on a track into the Turks and Caicos Islands and near the southern Bahamas. Still too early to say whether Ana will pass south of Florida, across Florida, or east of the peninsula but any impact from the storm would likely be at least 5 days away (if it holds together). Ana is still a fragile small system with minimal TS intensity.
