End of 2015 Season
      #96124 - Tue Dec 01 2015 09:33 AM

December 1st marks the end of the 2015 Atlantic Hurricane Season. Notable for several tropical storms that went through the Caribbean to fall apart, and most notable for hurricane Joaquin which ravaged the central and eastern Bahamas and sank a cargo ship.

The east Pacific had several record braking storms, including a category 5 landfall in western Mexico with Patricia.

This year 11 named storms, 4 hurricanes, and 2 major hurricanes in the Atlantic, and Florida crosses the 10 years without a hurricane threshold, as well as no major striking the US mainland in the past 10 years (Since Wilma in 2005).

Next year has the signs of being a bit more active than this year in the Atlantic, but it's still too soon to tell how it will go. The 2016 Atlantic hurricane season begins on June 1st, 2016.
