THERE REMAINS CONSIDERABLE UNCERTAINTY REGARDING THE POSSIBLE TROPICAL SYSTEM TO AFFECT THE CAROLINA COAST OVER THE WEEKEND. THIS SYSTEM...CURRENTLY EAST OF THE BAHAMAS...HAS APPEARED BETTER ORGANIZED ON SATELLITE THROUGH THE COURSE OF THE DAY. THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER INDICATED THAT CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR A TROPICAL DEPRESSION TO FORM DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO. WE WILL NEED TO CLOSELY MONITOR THIS SYSTEM...AS THE MODELS HAVE BEEN FAIRLY CONSISTENT IN TRACKING IT TO THE CAROLINA COAST. WHERE THE MODELS HAVE BEEN LEAST CONSISTENT IS WITH THE TIMING AND STRENGTH OF THIS SYSTEM.
-------------------- Another typical August:
Hurricane activity is increasing and the Red Sox are choking.
