All This and Lizards Too

I just found out that south FL is also home, charmingly, to large lizards, called monitor lizards, and that in fact one was just caught that was six feet long.

I am just going to have to start thinking of south Florida as a nature-lovers paradise, I guess. Or should I wait for the news articles about giant spiders?

I've been watching this eagle cam nightly, and right at the moment it is close to sunset in Vancouver, BC, and the sun is shining on the nest -- very beautiful. You've gotta check this out. Even the way these eaglets poop is cute!
