walked my neighborhood which is adjacent to the Manatee river. High tide, but the river seemed very full and all the natural drainage streams that flow into it have water consistent with a recent hard rain...and no rain here in a couple of days. High tide (2.6') each of the next two days coincides with predicted passage of the storm, at hurricane strength, only 50 or so miles west...With the two most recent TS's to affect us we had a 3+ bubble of water back up the river and all drainage streams which caused sudden flooding. I fear it will be twice that bad and that an extra 5-7' of water suddenly backing up the river is a real threat here...also anticipating 10+ hours of gale conditions (intermittent) and 6-10" of rain...sounds like fun...
