CFHC Talkback For News Story #134:
Newest Talkback: 07:53 PM 10-06 EDT

Leslie and Keith
08:44 AM EDT - 06 October 2000

Leslie is heading away and will pass by Bermuda later on. Most of the convection in Leslie is to the south and east, so they've put up Tropical Storm Warnings for Leslie.

The last advisory on Keith was issued this morning. It's raining itself out in Northeast Mexico currently. Plenty of Rain for them.

Outside of that, it's strangely quiet. The only peep being in the East Atlantic. But that wave will not have a chance to develop because of the shearing going on that direction.

For the moment, all else is quiet. The season is not over, however. So we'll be watching.

All of us with the ever popular name Michael want this season to continue because we only have a slim chance at the letter M for us every 6 years.

im sure all the folks named oscar feel the same way. anybody see what nrl is calling 93L? around 17N 35W there is a persistent swirl, kicking off puffs of convection. its getting sheared like crazy, but looking at the wide scale visible i noticed that it looks about as good as *tropical storm* leslie. ive got to say leslie is about as marginal as tropical storms come.. but a system with almost identical presentation gets no classification simply because it's way the hell out there and probably wont make it another day. oh well. the disturbance currently southeast of 93L is far enough south to avoid much shear for now.. probably gets a couple of days to get its act together before it has to play chicken with our old friend the shear monster.

94L.. would be the 93L trailer.. it's centered right around 9N/27W. this could be your michaal if it gets its act together fast. long term prognosis.. chow for the shear monster (unless it doesnt gain ANY latitude, which it is forecast to do). 93L looks about the same, won't write that one off til the llc goes away. ernesto made it's brief appearance earlier this season under similar conditions.
