History... TD#2 Forms in the East Atlantic
01:05 PM EDT - 24 June 2000

Granted, it's really history since the beginning of the satellite era in the mid 1960's, but still it's a first.

Anyway, against odds, Tropical Depression #2 has formed, and may even slightly strengthen. I do not belive it can survive the trek across the Atlantic, however.

Comments?

Just like Bertha in 1996, this thing has trouble written all over it, it has survived all these days I do not see it stopping for quite a while!

will it become a storm,,,not until at least sunday evening,,,little convection is noted,,and pressure is still high,,,,I feel alot of hype over this right now like before,,,it may have been a TS near 20w 2 days back,,,and been slowly weakening since,,,,,but it must servive 36hrs more,,to be a possible threat no matter what current data is being shown....lets just watch.
