Ex-TD#2 and Other Systems

As expected, TD#2 didn't make it across the Atlanic, and right now other than the remenants of that, there isn't much going on to watch.

Short Update Today.

The outlook for the rest of the season remains the same. I don't think July will be all that active of a month, and that August is when the real tracking begins.

Looks liekanother td int he works, outflow established, low level circulation evident (this seen on 4:45am Enhanced IR on TPC page).

Look for a mention in the 11;30 am TWO.

Well, 11:30 came and went and nary a mention by TPC, which is obviously playing it cool, and with good reason. The system, while still impressive, especially for this time of year, is already doing the 'fade'. The LLCC seems to be somewhat N of the main convection also, due to (mainly) lower SSTs on the N side.

Still, could be an indicator of things to come, and a much more active early season off Africa than we could normally expect to see this time of year.

I am glad that June came and went without much activity, but I don't believe that July will go without us seeing some activity. I am not saying this to be argumentative, it's just that I am looking at 2 distinct factors out there: 1) the water temps are already at 80-82 degrees in the Eastern Atlantic and 2) the waves that are continuously rolling off the coast of Africa are very very impressive until they hit a certain area. I believe that (and it's just gut instinct, mind you) this is an indicator that we can expect to see many more of these waves begin to form and hold. How far they make it is to be seen. The further we go into the season the more favorable the conditions will be for tropical storm formation...and I think that July will be just the beginning. Anyway, that's just my opinion, as amatuer as it may be..I would think we should see some impressive (if not scary) storms start to form around mid-July...Regards, Colleen
